Texworld USA Fall/Winter 13/14 textile collections at the Javits Center, NYC, held July 24-26, 2012. A total of 328 exhibitors from 15 countries make this 13th edition of Texworld USA the largest to date. Including the attendees from the co-located International Apparel Sourcing Show and Home Textiles Sourcing Expo shows, the triple event as a whole welcomed 5,285 attendees, a 5% increase over July 2011.
Featured were elite exhibitors from the USA, special pavilions for Turkey and Taiwan, plus exhibitors from India.
Trend forum displays by 2G2L Fashion Design and Consulting, Louis Gerin and Gregory Lamaud, define 4 trend mood directions for the season. *Scroll down for trends overview.
Complimentary seminars are offered throughout the three days of the show, covering a variety of topics including color and fashion trend analysis, eco certification, and sourcing opportunities.
Lenzing Fibers, a longtime partner of Texworld USA, showcased MicroModal® at their Innovation booth. Featured was Edelweiss, a Modal fiber with extreme softness and light-weight, plus MicroModal/cotton blends.

Highlights and summary of Texworld USA Spring/Summer 13 show held Jan 16-18, 2012, at the Javits Center. Direction for the Trend Forum provided by 2G2L Fashion Design and Consulting, supported with trend seminars complimentary to all attendees. Lenzing Innovation area features exhibitors using Tencel and Modal sustainable fibers.

January Show Stats: 10% Increase in Exhibitors and 22% Increase in Attendance
The twelfth edition of Texworld USA showcased 162 exhibitors from 18 countries with a 10.8% increase over January 2011. Exhibitors also benefited from a double digit increase in attendance, with a total of 3,363 verified attendees. Compared to January 2011, this reflects an increase of 22%.
Traffic on the show floor was steady, with Monday surprising organizers as the busiest day, registering the highest attendance for an opening day in the history of Texworld USA.
Decision makers from companies such as J.Crew, Macy’s, Lord & Taylor, Marc Jacobs, GAP, Victoria’s Secret, Converse, Urban Outfitters and NEXT UK were in attendance.

Seminars focused on Technology and Sustainability
• Dimensions in Denim panel: A full house turnout for this seminar focused on sustainability and jean production, offering a variety of ideas and innovations for denim devotees. The panel consisted of Louis Gerin, 2G2L Fashion Design & Consulting; Manon Clavel, USA Regional Manager, Jeanologia; Ramon Rios Quintana, Commerical Manager, Santanderina; and Jordi Ballus, Product Manager, Santanderina. Innovations as well as tried and true design and finishing techniques were discussed. Jeanologia’s Manon Clavel emphasized that “it does not cost more to produce responsibly”, highlighting Jeanlogia’s waterless processes as an example.
• Functional Aesthetics: Commercial Fashion with Technology. Dr. Sabine Seymour, of Moondial, presented on the topics of heat-sensitive inks, thermal inks and shape-changing structures were among the developments discussed. Dr. Seymour closed with a demonstration of light-sensitive inks, inspiring designers and product development professionals who had many questions regarding when these techniques would be available for production.

Ecopel Faux Fur - Exhibitor Highlight

Ecopel: Faux fur from France, a real standout, lots of interest from show attendees. Creative fashion-forward faux furs, luxe look and feel just like real fur. One of the largest better faux fur supplier in Europe. Ecopel company is a French-Chinese collaboration. Offered are faux versions of mink, shearling, sherpa, lamb, plus tie-dye and hot washes. Sherpa and shearling looks for men also.
Their fabrics are currently being used by top designers and brands in Europe and the U.S., such as Michael Kors, Armani, Trussardi, Custo Barcelona, Kenzo, Zara, Juicy Couture. At the show, Ecopel met representatives from Anthropologie and Abercrombie.

Texworld USA and Apparel Sourcing shows for Fall/Winter 12/13, held July 19-21 at the Javits Center, in partnership with Lenzing Fibers, and trend partner Stylesight. Trend forum themes tied together fashion and fabric trends, and were supported with a seminar series. Exhibitors of both textiles and apparel sources, organized around the same trend categories, making for a really cohesive overall show.
Sustainability and innovations also play a major role, with seminars dedicated to these topics, as well as support from Lenzing for the mills who use their eco-friendly fibers.
More USA domestic exhibitors this time, as per the
request of visitors at the January show.
